Archeocampus

Web page:http://www.archeocampus.com

Archeocampus organizes one-week archeological stays to visitors wishing to travel back in time and learn about the Samnites, an Indo-European language ancient tribe who inhabited the Abruzzo area in Italy.

Samnites occupied an extensive part of southern and central Italy - centered in the Campania area-, and for decades indefatigably struggled against Roman expansion. Samnites were finally defeated in 290 BC at the Third Samnite War. After this war, Rome took control of the whole central Italy, from the river Po valley -still under Celtic influence-, to southern cities preserving Greek culture.

This archeological campus offers activities of every sort: tool manufacturing, excavations, visits to museums and even Samnite gastronomy. This campus is linked to Parco Archeologico d'Abruzzo, Lazio e Molise.
