Cultural entity from the river Ebro region committed to the recovery and maintenance of traditional music by using two emblematic instruments: the shawm and the drum. Shawms are wind instruments of Arab origin (9th century) and always perform accompanied by 30 cm--diameter drums.

Flageolet Players from Tortosa have gone far beyond simply recovering traditional music and have fully entered the world of re-enactment, as it is understood on this web page. In 1995, they pioneered extensive documentation and historical research work in order to be able to participate in the first edition of Tortosa Renaissance Fair together with Italian renaissance flageolet groups (the well known sbanderatori of Pisa or San Luca) as well as other groups from France.

The group is formed by a dozen people who dress in the colours of Tortosa: red adorned with green and white. Flags on display represent the way city defence was organised in the 16th century. The city wall perimeter was divided into 15 different sections, the protection of which was appointed to a different city fraternity -from parish or professional origin-, holding each their own distinctive flag.

Flageolet players perform flag shows and choreographies captained by the Tortosan flag.
