Guimerà is a village already documented in the 12th century. The origins of the market go back to 1294, when king Jaume II consented a weekly market. Along the narrow steep streets and under the shadows of the medieval castle's ruins, the market of XIII and XIV centuries is remembered every summer.
Many activities can be enjoyed in this noisy Market. Stand out the number of artisans such as ceramists, sandal makers, basket makers, coopers, stained glass window makers, blacksmiths and quarrymen re-enacting existing guilds 800 years ago. A lot of medieval ambience is also to be found in the streets, filled with medieval characters, musicians, storytellers and, especially, knight fighting shows.
